This Yunnan Gold comes from Pu'er Zuxiang Highmountain Tea Garden in Yunnan China.  Managed by Mr. Dong, this 2,500 acre tea garden practices strict organic tea growing procedures without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers.  Insects are controlled with sticky boards, insect lamps, and workers manually driving the insects away with a bamboo branch and electric mosquito swatters.  Mr. Dong's workers have been working in the tea garden for many years and are very experienced at controlling insects in these ways.  Mr. Dong uses only a sustainable organic fertilizer made from mostly sheep manure, humus, and compost.  He is unwavering in his emphasis on ecological balance and sustainable production techniques.


Zuxiang Tea Garden is located in the Wuliang mountains beside the Lancang River, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the pollution of the factory, and the dustfall of the roadways.  The tea garden's secluded high mountain pristine environment is surrounded by just green forest and blue skies.  Mr. Dong selected this location for his tea garden to be sure the tea is clean, healthy, and delicious.


For this 1st grade Yunnan Gold (Dianhong) only the buds and 1 leaf are hand-picked.  The leaves are allowed to oxidize, giving the leaves a dark brown and gold color.
